Self-employment and the NHS staffing crisis

The government should look to self-employment to solve the NHS staffing crisis, according to a new report by IPSE (The Association of Independent Professionals and the Self-Employed) and PPP (Public Policy Projects).

It suggests the government should help alleviate the staffing crisis by adopting policies that better support and encourage flexible working in the NHS.

The report also warns about the damage recent changes to IR35 self-employed tax regulations have done to contractors in the NHS.
